The Number 2 is a symbol of duality. Much like Taoists, the Maya think in terms of cosmic polarities. This is embodied in their mythology: there are two Hero Twins, two principal Lords of the Underworld, as well as the two monkey twins who represent the day-sign Chuen. There is the eternal dichotomy of this world and the Underworld, day and night, darkness and light. These themes run like a common thread in all of Mayan myth, especially in the sacred book the Popol Vuh.
IX (I’X) THE JAGUAR: Signifies the jaguar, the spirit, force, energy, and vitality. It is the
nawal of nature and Mayan altars. It is also the
nawal of the seven human shames: pride, ambition, envy, lying, crime, ingratitude, and ignorance through laziness. Those who keep the Days always set aside a special place or household altar for prayer, meditation, incense, candles, and so on. This is the day to give thanks that we have created such a sacred place in our lives. It is a day which may fruitfully be devoted to introspection and meditation if the opportunity is there. It is also regarded as a favorable day upon which to practice any kind of divination. As regards the element of Water, Ix symbolizes the sacred energy inherent in fresh streams, in running water.

Personality traits for those born on
Tone: 2 (Duality)
- Decisions
- Challenge
- The facilitator of change
Mysterious as the question, To be or not to be? Here is the recognition of the separation of self from all else and the desire to be rejoined. Walking a balance while making choices of all kinds, light/dark, male/female, good/bad, Ying/Yang, is the energy of this number. Experiencing the differences between one and another is the use and purpose of this number's energy. Tone Two energy challenges old patterns on every level. Emphasis is on change for the better. This break-down frequency will remove what has become obsolete to make new space for what is to come. Recognize difference without judgment and smooth the road to change.
Ix - North
Symbolism:
The Mayan name for this day,
Ix (eesh), probably refers to the earth god or to a magician. The Quiche Maya name, Balam, definitely means jaguar throughout the Mayan region. The connection here is that the jaguar is an animal of the underworld, of the earth. The Mayan glyph is stylized, but it appears to show the spots of this animal.
Personality:
Ix types can be private, sensitive, intelligent, and psychic. They have an inborn sense of strategy and make good planners and investigators. Ix types may be aggressive but they will generally avoid direct confrontations. They will fight to make a point, though they usually do so in somewhat indirect ways. Some are cryptic communicators. They are not fearful of becoming entangled with other peoples lives. Ix types tend to become deeply involved with others on many levels, and they will base their security needs on these relationships. When things turn sour, they find themselves caught up in a network of ties and obligations that are difficult to throw off easily and quickly. This tendency leaves a lot of unfinished business and opportunities to process what has happened, which may yield deep spiritual insights. Ix types make good healers and consultants. They are inclined to be concerned with religion or spirituality, and they often display various kinds of psychic abilities. They are very sensitive in general and can read people intuitively. When this psychic ability is combined with their tendency to become deeply involved in human relationships, what emerges is essentially an identity as doctor or counselor. At their very best, Ix types are healers and confessors and as such provide a necessary service to humanity.
Challenge:
To sort out complex and entangled human relationships; to purify ones social life.
Solution:
To develop healing and counseling skills. Ix
1-Ben
Beneath the 1-Ben surface personality is a person who seeks constant self-improvement. Such people have a strong need to persuade others, to conquer their enemies, and to achieve their objectives. While they make good teachers and role models, they also have a tendency to be somewhat self-righteous and overconfident of their own opinions.
G-4 (North)
Some people born under the influence of this Lord are teachers, some are healers, and some are over protective parents. Most seem to have a nervous disposition and a need to talk.
They are intense guardians of one thing or another; other people, children, pets. Youth of often a fixation for them; they are drawn to children and perhaps even work with them in some capacity.
Their nurturing instincts are quite strong, and they need to find healthy outlets to express this urge. Their darker side lies in understanding that their nurturing influence can become a detriment in many ways. The communication skills of G-4 types make them excellent teachers. They can be very creative with their thinking, a quality that lends itself to art and writing. On the darker side, they think or talk incessantly and often struggle with ways to turn off their minds. By working as a teacher or communicator, they may be able to turn this tendency into positive activity.
G-4 types have a tendency to scatter their energies and this inclination may lead to being a "jack of all trades but master of none." Mercury is usually strong in the charts of those who are born under this lord, as is an emphasized twelfth house.
